New Certified Trainer and Canadian PCOMS Ambassador

Better Outcomes Now (BON) is pleased to announce a new PCOMS Certified Trainer and our Canadian PCOMS Ambassador, Dr. Stephanie Snow. She is a registered clinical psychologist in Nova Scotia, practicing within the public health system and through her private practice, Hatch Psychology Inc. She completed her graduate training at Dalhousie University and her residency in child and adolescent mental health at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. That training path led naturally to her public health work with children and adolescents, while a rotation in perinatal mental health during residency opened a parallel interest that would come to define the focus of her private practice.

Through Hatch Psychology Inc., Dr. Snow works clinically with perinatal populations, a focus she built the practice around after residency. She also offers consulting and training in perinatal mental wellness and the integration of measurement and feedback tools into care, working with organizations to embed these approaches meaningfully into their service delivery. In her public health role, she works in a leadership and training capacity across all levels of care, from prevention through outpatient, intensive, and acute services.

How She Started with PCOMS

Her relationship with the Partner for Change Outcome Management System (PCOMS) began in graduate school, where a mentor introduced her to the idea of learning systematically and directly from clients. It is a practice she has carried forward ever since. With over a decade of experience with PCOMS and the Outcome and Session Rating Scales, she became a BON Certified PCOMS Trainer in 2026, having completed an extensive train-the-trainer program, been observed delivering a training by the PCOMS’ developer, and passed relevant written assessments. Stephanie draws on this training in her daily work and in offerings to organizations looking to deepen how they use PCOMS in care delivery.

Throughout her career, Dr. Snow has been involved in both academic and applied research across a range of topics. She is most drawn to practice-based research, the kind that happens on the ground of delivering mental health services and learns directly from care.

Those who work with Stephanie often describe her as honest, warm, steady, and perceptive, someone who takes feedback seriously and tailors her approach to the needs and preferences of the people she works with.

Outside of work, she is happiest with good food, good friends, family, her dog, and time spent outside and adventuring. She is endlessly curious and always learning to slow down.
